Pavel & Jana |
Pavel Pavel’s sister Monika was having a birthday soon and her father asked her, “What would you like for your birthday?” Monika casually responsed, “I don’t want anything - except that you would come to church Sunday.” Her father gave her the gift she wanted. He came, and Pavel came with him. They stayed after the services talking for over an hour. Pavel liked the Bible teaching and we offered to him to do a personal study. He agreed. |
Pavel & Jana |
Already having a Catholic background, Pavel understood many of the concepts, but it was still not a short road to his salvation. We were interupted in the summer, while Pavel spent 2 months in Holland for the company he worked for. Praise the Lord, when he returned he wanted to continue. After several more weeks, conviction began to set in. On Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, we were studying at our home around the kitchen table. The study was long that night, as Pavel seemed unusually intense, asking many questions. I had my wife join us and recount her own testimony. Finally around 11:30 PM, I asked Pavel if he was ready to pray to be saved. He thought quietly and finally said, “Not now.” I said “Fine, we will continue studies another time”. I prayed a short prayer and said Amen. But Pavel just sat there looking down until finally he blurted out, “I NEED to get saved, NOW!” Pavel put his head down and prayed a sincere prayer of repentance, putting his faith fully in Christ. Pavel has grown much in the Lord, having made some key decisions involving his separating from the world. God has blessed him with a wonderful wife, Jana, and together they are serving the Lord faithfully here in our church. |
Jana Jana came to a creation seminar with Monika. Thirty minutes into the seminar, Jana left. She was bored! Monika stayed and it proved a turning point for her. Once Monika started coming to church, Jana came also at her invitation. Jana began to listen to the preaching and Emilie started meeting with her for Bible study. Jana’s heart was very tender, but she was also very confused. She made an emotional profession of faith at one point, but it was clear afterwards that she still did not have a sufficient grasp of truth. Emilie and Monika continued to work with her, and Jana kept coming to church. In May of 2005, Emilie and Monika met with Jana in a restaurant in Prague. It became clear to Emilie that Jana was ready now to be saved. They didn’t wait for a “convenient” place - Jana bowed her head there in a Thai restaurant and received Christ as her Savior. It has been a blessing to watch her grow and see how the love of Christ healed a broken heart that she struggled with since she was a teenager. Whereas she once cried almost anytime you met her, she radiates now with a confidence and joy. Jana is willing to witness to anyone, anywhere. Working as |
a professional hairdresser, she has turned her hairdresser chair into a pulpit. A year ago, Jana was called on to do the hair of Miss World. Miss World got more than a hairdo - she got the gospel too! Jana continues serving the Lord faithfully, now as Pavel’s wife :) |
